Wednesday November 29 2006 Recap of Mad Money with Jim Cramer

Show Theme: How the market really works.

Why does Exxon keep going up?

A large hedge fund needs exposure to the commodity of Oil. They buy XOM becuase its a core holding. It is a for gone conclusion that XOM is going higher and higher. Mutual funds are filling up their positions on XOM. XOM going to par (100).

Exxon Mobil Corporation

(Public, NYSE:XOM)

Caller: Something something something.

Cramer: XOM is the anointed stock.

Caller: BTU should he cut his loses.
Cramer: No No No. Natural Gas is going high and is bringing up Coal too.

Commercial Break:

Secrets of how Mutual Funds work:

Monday was bad soley for mechanical purposes. Mutual Funds were locking in their profits for the year. Mutual Funds will buy relentlessly over time. Buy high sell high. This is what is happening of XOM as the Mutual try to buy a meaningful position in the stock.

Symbolism. A diversivied Mutual needs some exposure to XOM. Annoited stocks or core holdings Boeing. Bank of the America. Google. Cisco and Apple.

Bottom Line: Mutual Funds decide where stocks go in the short term not you.

Caller: No exposure in the Oil sector. Individual stock or ETF.
Cramer: ETF you get the best and the worst. DVN if you are risk taker. If you just want to play along till the year ends XOM.

Caller: DUKE energy share price as the blah blah blah blah energy shares.
Cramer: Stay away from DUKE
